Underwater Hockey

Underwater hockey is a fast-paced sport played at the bottom of a swimming pool, where two teams of six players maneuver a puck into the opposing team's goal using small sticks.

Scots College’s underwater hockey teams are thriving, with increasing opportunities to compete at regional tournaments and inter-school competitions in Wellington. The latest season has been especially exciting, showcasing the growth and dedication of our athletes.

In 2024, the Junior Open team achieved an impressive third-place finish at the Centrals Underwater Hockey Tournament, securing qualification for the National Tournament. The previous year, the team also made it to Nationals, competing in Tauranga and finishing 7th after an intense campaign. In 2024, three of our Year 10 students were selected for the regional B Under 18 side.

We are proud to be led by our coach, Mitchell Thomas-Beck, whose dedication and expertise have been instrumental to the team's success.
