Rātā Studios
Established in January 2013, Rātā Studios prides itself on offering specialised professional courses to children and adults in focused areas of drama, music, visual art, and creative technologies.
Rātā Studios is a creative and performing arts school, which runs out of the Scots College Creative and Performing Arts (CPAC) facility after school, on evenings, and on weekends. Rātā prides itself on offering specialised courses to children and adults in focused areas of drama, music, and visual art.
All courses are taught by industry professionals, using state-of-the-art equipment, in world class facilities, and with strong relationships with the industry. We provide inspiring opportunities for all people to access and make a life in the creative and performing arts.
Rātā Studios drama courses include Miranda Harcourt’s Professional-level Teen Acting, Stage and Screen for Teens, and a range of other classes for people of all ages, children through to adults. We also run specialist holiday drama courses, which sometimes incorporate aspects of filmmaking.
Rātā Studios also offers a comprehensive music programme. Using the best musicians and teachers available, known professionals in their fields collaborate with singer and violinist, Mark Bobb. The Rātā Studios School of Music is run like a conservatoire, but is open to everybody (from school age to those in retirement) who wants the best teaching and courses available. The Music School has Wellington’s very own Wellington Late Starters’ Orchestra (WELLSO) for adults and the Rātā Studios Big Band, also for adults, under the musical direction of Jake Baxendale.
Rātā Studios has a reputation for providing quality Arts opportunities for all ages. New courses are available each term and all course information and details are available at the link below.
