CSW Road Race Champs 2012

Scots College athletes finished the winter season in style at the CSW Road Race Championships held in Heretaunga.

Callum Stewart led all the way to win the Year 9 Boys 3km race, with a fine 4th place finish from Simeo Pont.

James Fletcher (Y11) and Tom Caughley (Y10) cleared away from the field early to dominate and take 1st and 2nd places respectively in the 4km Under 16 Boys event.

James Preston (5th), Jake Jamieson (7th), Andrew Kelly (10th), and Robert Hanbury-Sparrow (16th) secured a six man teams victory.

Inter-College Lakes Relays 2012 Report

Scots athletes continued their winning streak in Wanganui on Monday at the annual inter-College Lakes Relays.

Schools from the lower North Island competed over a 2km course around Lake Virginia.

Kieron McDonald (Y13), with a new Scots record of 6m19s, led the Over 16 team to victory in a tight finish from new Plymouth BHS., supported by teammates Nathan Tse (Y12), James Fletcher (Y11), and Nicholas Pointon (Y12).

Scots College athletes continue to shine on the national scene, with their latest success coming on Saturday (1 September 2012) on the Wellington Waterfront.

Athletics New Zealand conducted their national road race championships, incorporating the top club athletes in NZ, and four Scots students were on the medal podium.
